Welcome to Sink One 4 Seaford (and Newhaven!)

This web site has been specifically set up to provide information on the ongoing project to create an artificial reef off the Sussex coast.

This site is also a portal for people to express their support for the project, this can be done via the support link on this page, where you can also send us your comments.

On our sponsor’s page, we will be listing and linking to all the businesses and individuals who support and sponsor this project, whether it is through financial assistance or by donating their valuable time and expertise.

The Plan is to obtain an ex Royal Navy vessel, strip the vessel, making it environmentally friendly, then sinking it about 1 mile off shore with a controlled explosion.

The Reason we want to do this is to create an artificial reef, this will improve environmental awareness and boost marine and bird life. We believe this will benefit the local community by promoting tourism and regenerating the surrounding towns.

A similar project, HMS SCYLLA, currently generates about 1 million pounds a year in extra revenue.
