Question from Mr K - Seaford
Surely this Scheme will put unnecessary pressure on the emergency teams and RNLI? |
The RNLI tell me that of all the call-outs they had last year, only about 4.5 per cent were for divers.
Provision can be made for the funding of rescue services so as not to cause any additional burden.

Question from Anonymous - Seaford
I have heard that sinking this vessel may act as a sea defence and protect the beach, is this true?
|
No, this is in no way a sea defence, the vessel will be below the waves, so will not protect the beach. However we believe this project is just the beginning and with small acorns grow big trees - Once people can see the money coming in from this project and the amount of visitors/families it attracts, then surely the next step will be to look at the beach.
We have to start somewhere and get on the road to making Seaford and Newhaven wonderful towns once again.
